School Systems
Primary
Garrett County is home to top-tier school systems that are constantly recognized on both the state and national level for academic and athletic successes. Garrett County Public Schools were rated 4-star Maryland Public schools for the 23-24 school year based on testing results. This is not a new accolade for our school system, as they routinely achieve high marks and designations from the state.
Our school system is divided into two main districts - Northern & Southern, with numerous elementary schools and one middle and high school in each district.
Each school system routinely has athletes and teams that advance to state finals in all sports, including most recently robotics, girls basketball, girls soccer, wrestling, cross-country, and track.
